There hasn't been a lot going on lately for this writer. As the summer slowly drifts away, I'm continuing to work on about a dozen different pieces, mostly solos, including two new commissions. It's been a relief to have the creative mojo flowing again after a period of writer's block, but it's also been a but maddening have so much wanting to come pouring out. Sometimes people are surprised that I work on so many simultaneously, but I've always found it to be the best method for me. I tend to hit walls when working on only one project, and by having others that I can jump to at a moment's notice, less walls tend to come up as a result.
Two albums will be released this Autumn featuring two of my pieces. "Evolutions" by the Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble will be released on Mark Records (release date TBA), which will include the title-based "Evolutions" for 8-part ensemble. In mid-October, "Table for Three," by John Ericson, Deanna Swoboda, and Douglas Yeo of Arizona State University, will be released on Summit Records.
So for now, back to my music cave!
